I’m Dr. Heena Sinha Cheung, an Independent Candidate for the Senate in Victoria. My life has been a journey of resilience, determination, and the unwavering belief that true change begins with each of us. I’m running because I dream of a future where every voice is heard, every dream nurtured, and every individual empowered to thrive.

Born in Ahmedabad, India, I grew up facing profound challenges. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, I chose not to let my trauma define me. Instead, I transformed it into strength and purpose. Moving to Australia was a turning point—a chance to rebuild, find my voice, and dedicate myself to making a difference. Today, I use my experiences to fight for equality, opportunity, and a future where no one is left behind.

As a proud mother to my two children, Nova and Orion, I’ve navigated the entrepreneurial world as a woman of colour, proving that with hard work and passion, obstacles can be overcome. My dedication to empowering others has been recognised with accolades like the Silver Rising Star AusMumpreneur Award, the "Exceptional Women of Excellence" Award from the Women Economic Forum, and being named one of Australia’s 40 Under 40 leaders.

Beyond my work in business, I am deeply committed to community impact. I’m currently writing a children’s book, My Safe Circle, which aims to teach young children how to protect themselves from abuse—a cause that is close to my heart and central to my mission of safeguarding the next generation.

My vision for Victoria is a community that thrives on diversity, innovation, and inclusivity. I believe in leadership that listens, acts decisively, and delivers meaningful change. Victorians deserve a Senator who will fight for equality, champion bold ideas, and create opportunities for all.
